Jane's personal family history. All her ancestors were from central and southern England (Mercia and Wessex). A working class and lower middle class family. The most interesting ancestors were a Rifleman and the Battle of Waterloo, and his wife who was a field nurse at the battle, plus their daughter who assisted her mother though only five and then lived to be 94, and the last living British survivor of the battle. The next most interesting person in the family tree was a librarian.
